Features Connect ChatGPT

The Apex Racing MCP server lets an AI assistant read your sessions and laps. You add one URL to ChatGPT and sign in once. Then you ask about your driving in your own words, and ChatGPT answers with your own numbers.

Before You Start

You need three things:

  • An Apex Racing account with the trial or a plan.
  • At least one session that p0 recorded. See Your First Session.
  • A ChatGPT account that can add a custom MCP server. Your plan and your workspace settings control this option. When your workspace has an admin, the admin can turn the option off.

The server URL is:

https://apexracing.io/api/v1/mcp

ChatGPT connects to the server from the internet. Use ChatGPT on the web at chatgpt.com to add the server.

Add the Server

  1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT (chatgpt.com/plugins).
  2. Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Type a name, for example Apex Racing. The description is optional.
  4. Under Connection, paste the server URL into the Server URL field.
  5. For the authentication, select OAuth.
  6. Read the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.
  7. Select Create as a plugin.

  1. Open the new plugin in your personal plugins and install it.
  2. ChatGPT opens Apex Racing in a new window. Sign in with your Apex Racing account.
  3. Apex Racing asks if ChatGPT can use your account. Select Authorize.

You sign in only once. ChatGPT keeps the connection.

Use It in a Chat

  1. Start a new chat.
  2. Type @ in the message field and select the Apex Racing plugin.
  3. Ask your question.

ChatGPT calls the Apex Racing tools and shows each call. When a tool can change something, for example a game server of your league, ChatGPT asks you before it runs the tool.

What Can I Ask?

Ask in your own words. Some examples:

  • "Show my last five sessions."
  • "Compare my best lap at Spa with my second best lap. Where do I lose time?"
  • "How does my braking into turn 1 change over the session?"
  • "How much fuel do I use per lap in my last race?"
  • "Write a coaching report for my last practice."

MCP Server: All Tools lists each tool with one sentence.

When It Does Not Work

  • There is no "Add custom MCP server" option. Your plan or your workspace does not allow custom MCP servers. Ask your workspace admin, or use Claude or a terminal agent.
  • The plugin does not show after @. Make sure that you installed the plugin. Then start a new chat.
  • The sign-in fails. Sign in on apexracing.io first, then try again. When the Apex Racing page asks you, select Authorize, not Deny.
  • ChatGPT says that your account needs a plan. The MCP server needs the trial or a plan. Open Settings → Billing.
  • ChatGPT finds no data. The tools read only what p0 recorded. Drive one session with p0, then ask again.
